Notes: Summary 1. The relation was established between the characteristic viscosity of polymethacrylate (in benzene at 27°C) and the average molecular weight, determined by the osmometric method [η]=2.95·10−3·¯M n 0.52 The formula was found for the polymethacrylates with hydrocarbon radicals R from C7 to C12 and with average molecular weights from 3 · 103 to 3 · 104. 2. The molecular weight distribution was determined for two samples of a viscosity additive-polymethacrylate.

Notes: Summary 1. It has been established that polymethacrylate, when added to a naphthenic-paraffinic fraction of lubricating oil, has an effect on the oxidation of this fraction at 140–180°C. When the polymer is present, there is a more rapid accumulation of peroxides and products from the conversion of peroxides (alcohols, carbonyl compounds, and acids). 2. Polymers of higher molecular weight have a greater effect on the oxidation process and are subject to more severe breakdown.

Notes: Conclusions 1. It has been established that pyrazolidone derivatives are transformer oil oxidation inhibitors. The effectiveness of their action depends on molecular structure. The most active antioxidant additives proved to be derivatives containing phenyl radicals in the 1 or 5 positions. 2. It has been shown thatgb-hydrazinopropionic acid derivatives also display inhibiting action with respect to transformer oil 3. The corrosiveness of transformer oil with respect to copper, steel, and lead in the presence of these additives has been investigated. 4. It has been found that derivatives of pyrazolidone or ofβ-hydrazinopropionic acid effectively retard the oxidation of naphthenoparaffinic hydrocarbons.

Notes: Abstract The composition of protein subunits extracted from muscle homogenates of various types by salt media of low ionic strength was studied by electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel with sodium dodecyl sulfate. Extracts from smooth muscles contained a premyosin subunit with a molecular weight of 230,000, the heavy chain of myosin, actin, and certain other proteins. Extracts of low ionic strength from smooth muscles possessed Mg- and Ca-activated ATPase activity. A premyosin subunit also was found in extracts of low ionic strengths from homogenates of skeletal muscles. It is postulated that the premyosin subunit is a component of the enzyme system responsible for the ATPase properties of extracts of low ionic strengths from homogenates of different types of muscle.

Notes: Summary 1. A study has been made of the oxidation of industrial oil “12” and of a solution of polymethacrylate in it, and the effect of several new derivatives of morpholine containing two or three morpholine rings in the molecule. 2. It has been shown that complex esters of alcohols of the morpholine series with acetic, diphenyl acetic, and benzoic acids inhibit the oxidation of thickened oil and of base oil.
