Syntheses of 2,4-Dinitro-substituted Bis(phenyl)platinum(II) CompoundsSyntheses of the compounds {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](aryl)} [aryl = 4-CH3OC6H4; 4-CH3C6H4; 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4; 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3; COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene] (7b-e, 4) and cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](aryl)} [aryl = 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4, 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3] (cis-1d-f) are reported. Experiments to synthesize {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3][4-(CH3)2NC6H4]} (7a) and cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](XC6H4)} (X = 4-CH3O; 4-CH3) (cis-1b, c) with one electron acceptor-substituted and one electron donor-substituted phenyl ring resulted in the spontaneous reductive elimination of the biphenyls 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3-C6H4X-(4) [X = (CH3)2N; CH3O; CH3] (8a-c). This observation supports the hypothesis of a donor acceptor interaction in the transition state of the reductive biphenyl elimination from cis-1.

Die Synthesen der Verbindungen {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](Aryl)} [Aryl = 4-CH3OC6H4; 4-CH3C6H4; 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4; 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3; COD = 1,5-Cyclooctadien] (7b-e, 4) und cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](Aryl)} [Aryl = 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4, 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3] (cis-1d-f) werden beschrieben. Bei Versuchen zur Synthese von {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3][4-(CH3)2NC6H4]} (7a) und cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](XC6H4)} (X = 4-CH3O; 4-CH3) (cis-1b, c) mit jeweils einem Akzeptor- und einem Donator-substituierten Phenyl-Ring am Platin wurden spontan die Biphenyle 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3-C6H4X-(4) [X = (CH3)2N; CH3O; CH3] (8a-c) reduktiv eliminiert. Diese Beobachtung stützt die Hypothese über eine Donator-Akzeptor-Wechselwirkung im Übergangszustand der reduktiven Biphenyl-Eliminierung aus cis-1.
