    Description / Table of Contents: A Contribution to the Mechanism of Light-induced Isomerizations of the 4-Methylenebicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-eneDeuterium-labelling of 1,2,3,5,6-exo-pentamethyl-4-methylenebicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (exo-1) and 1,2,3,5,6-endo-pentamethyl-4-methylenebicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (endo-1) was used to get insight into the mechanisms of the reversible photo-isomerization exo-1 ⇌ endo-1 and of their light-induced rearrangements to 1,2,3,4,6-pentamethyl-5-methylene-1,3-cyclohexadiene (2).
    Notes: Durch Verfolgung des Verbleibs von Deuterium im markierten 1,2,3,5,6-exo-Pentamethyl-4-methylenbicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-en (exo-1) und 1,2,3,5,6-endo-Pentamethyl-4-methylenbicyclo[3.1.0]-hex-2-en (endo-1) wurden Hinweise über die Mechanismen der reversiblen Photo-Isomerisierung exo-1 ⇌ endo-1 und der gleichfalls licht-induzierten Umlagerung dieser Verbindungen zum 1,2,3,4,6-Pentamethyl-5-methylen-1,3-cyclohexadien (2) erhalten.

    Description / Table of Contents: It could be shown by a detailed 1H-NMR-study of suitable model compounds that also in the isolated dissolved molecule of N-phenylphthalimide the nitrogen atom is subject of a stationary sp2-hybridization with strong planar geometry of the three σ-bonds. From this molecular structure it can be concluded, that the polyimide of pyromellitic acid, poly(pyromellitdiimido-4,4′-biphenylylene) (4), must have a strictly linear rod-like structure of the whole macromolecule.
    Notes: Anhand geeigneter Modellverbindungen konnte 1H-NMR-spektroskopisch nachgewiesen werden, daß sich auch am isolierten, gelösten Molekül des N-Phenylphthalimids eine zeitlich stationäre sp2-Hybridisierung mit ebener Anordnung der drei vom Stickstoff ausgehenden σ-Bindungen einstellt. Diese Bindungsverhältnisse haben für das Polyimid der Pyromellithsäure, Poly(pyromellithdiimido-4,4′-biphenylylen) (4), eine streng lineare, stäbchenförmige Struktur des Makromoleküls zur Folge.

    Notes: Die Elektronegativitätswerte des Sauerstoffs gegenüber den Alkylresten R in den Verbindungen Cln(CH3)3-nSi—O—R (R—CH3, CH2CH3, CH2CH2CH3, CH(CH3)2, CH2CH2CH2CH3, CH(CH 3)CH2CH3 und CH(CH3)CH2CH2CH3) wurden bestimmt. Durch Vergleich der inneren und effektiven Elektronegativitäten konnten die Anteile der magnetischen Anisotropie an den chemischen Verschiebungen ermittelt werden. Die Meßwerte werden im Hinblick auf die Bindungseigenschaften in den untersuchten Verbindungen diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Influence of Substituents on the Light-Induced Isomerization of the Homofulvene System: Photo-Isomerization of the Singlet Excited 1,2,3,5-Tetramethyl-4-methylene-endo- and -exo-6-(trifluoromethyl)bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-eneSyntheses of the diastereomeric pairs 1,2,3,5-tetramethyl-4-methylene-endo- and -exo-6-(trifluoromethyl)bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (endo-1d and exo-1d) as well as [6-D]-endo-1d and [6-D]- exo-1d are reported. Following singlet excitation both diastereomers are isomerized to a mixture of 1,2,3,5-Tetramethyl-6-methylene-endo- and -exo-4-(trifluoromethyl)bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (endo-7 and exo-7) as well as [4-D]-endo-7 and [4-D]-exo-7. A mechanism for this - from the singlet excited isomerization of the alkyl-substituted homofulvenes different - reaction path is suggested.
    Notes: Die Synthese der Diastereomeren-Paare 1,2,3,5-Tetramethyl-4-methylen-endo- und -exo-6(trifluormethyl)bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-en (endo-1d und exo-1d) bzw. [6-D]-endo-1d und [6-D]-exo-1d wird beschrieben. Die Diastereomeren werden nach Singulett-Anregung übereinstimmend zu einem Gemisch von 1,2,3,5-Tetramethyl-6-methylen-endo- und -exo-4-(trifluormethyl)bicyclo-[3.1.0]hex-2-en (endo- 7 und exo-7) bzw. [4-D]-endo-7 und [4-D]-exo-7 isomerisiert. Ein Mechanismus für diesen - vom Verhalten der alkylsubstituierten Homofulvene stark abweichenden - Reaktionsverlauf wird vorgeschlagen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Syntheses of 2,4-Dinitro-substituted Bis(phenyl)platinum(II) CompoundsSyntheses of the compounds {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](aryl)} [aryl = 4-CH3OC6H4; 4-CH3C6H4; 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4; 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3; COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene] (7b-e, 4) and cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](aryl)} [aryl = 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4, 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3] (cis-1d-f) are reported. Experiments to synthesize {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3][4-(CH3)2NC6H4]} (7a) and cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](XC6H4)} (X = 4-CH3O; 4-CH3) (cis-1b, c) with one electron acceptor-substituted and one electron donor-substituted phenyl ring resulted in the spontaneous reductive elimination of the biphenyls 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3-C6H4X-(4) [X = (CH3)2N; CH3O; CH3] (8a-c). This observation supports the hypothesis of a donor acceptor interaction in the transition state of the reductive biphenyl elimination from cis-1.
    Notes: Die Synthesen der Verbindungen {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](Aryl)} [Aryl = 4-CH3OC6H4; 4-CH3C6H4; 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4; 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3; COD = 1,5-Cyclooctadien] (7b-e, 4) und cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](Aryl)} [Aryl = 4-F3CC6H4; 4-O2NC6H4, 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3] (cis-1d-f) werden beschrieben. Bei Versuchen zur Synthese von {Pt(1,2,5,6-η4-COD)[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3][4-(CH3)2NC6H4]} (7a) und cis-{Pt[P(C6H5)3]2[2,4-(O2N)2C6H3](XC6H4)} (X = 4-CH3O; 4-CH3) (cis-1b, c) mit jeweils einem Akzeptor- und einem Donator-substituierten Phenyl-Ring am Platin wurden spontan die Biphenyle 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3-C6H4X-(4) [X = (CH3)2N; CH3O; CH3] (8a-c) reduktiv eliminiert. Diese Beobachtung stützt die Hypothese über eine Donator-Akzeptor-Wechselwirkung im Übergangszustand der reduktiven Biphenyl-Eliminierung aus cis-1.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Reductive Elimination of the Biphenyl System from Substituted trans-Diphenylbis(triphenyl-phosphane)platinum(II) Compoundstrans-Diarylbis(triphenylphosphane)platinum(II) (aryl = C6H5, 3—CH3C6H4, 4—CH3C6H4, 3—CH3OC6H4, 4—CH3OC6H4, 3—(H3C)2NC6H4) (trans-1a-f) have been synthesized. The trans-configuration in this type of compounds is demonstrated by an X-ray analysis of the parent compound trans-[Pt(PPh3)2(C6H5)2]. The thermolysis of trans-1a-f yields  -  despite the trans-position of the phenyl rings  -  stereospecific reductive elimination of the biphenyl system in a concerted reaction.
    Notes: Die Verbindungen trans-Diarylbis(triphenylphosphan)platin(II) (Aryl = C6H5, 3—CH3C6H4, 4—CH3C6H4, 3—CH3OC6H4, 4—CH3OC6H4, 3—(H3C)2NC6H4) (trans-1a-f) wurden synthetisiert. Die trans-Konfiguration dieses Verbindungstyps wurde zusätzlich durch eine Röntgenstruktur-analyse der Stammverbindung trans-[Pt(PPh3)2(C6H5)2] belegt. Bei der Thermolyse von trans- 1a-f wurde  -  trotz der trans-Stellung der Phenyl-Ringe  -  in einer konzertierten Reaktion stereospezifisch das Biphenyl-System eliminiert. Der Mechanisms dieser reduktiven Eliminierung wird diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Spin-Spin Coupling Constants by Platinium-195 as Criteria for a Configuration Determination in Platinum Organic CompoundsThe platinum organic compounds [Pt(η4-1,5-cyclooctadiene)(XC6H4)2] and cis-[Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2-(XC6H4)2] (X = H, 4-CH3, 4-(CH3)3C, 4-(CH3)2N, 3-F, 4-F, 4-CH3O, 4-CF3; 3a - 4, cis-4a - h) as well as trans-[Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2(4-CH3OC6H4)2] (trans-4g) and trans-[Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2(4-CF3C6H4)2] (trans-4h) have been studied by 31P-, 13C-, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The coupling constants 1J[195Pt, 31P], nJ[195Pt, 13C], nJ[195Pt, H], and 2J[31P, 13C] show a clear correlation to the ligand configuration at the dsp2-hybridized platinum and can therefore be used as basis for configuration determination.
    Notes: Die platin-organischen Verbindungen [Pt(η4-1,5-cyclooctadien)(XC6H4)2] und cis-[Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2-(XC6H4)] (X = H, 4-CH3, 4-(CH3)3C, 4-(CH3)2N, 3-F, 4-F, 4-CH3O, 4-CF3; 3a - h, cis-4a - h) sowie trans-[Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2(4-CH3OC6H4)2] (trans-4g) und trans-[Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2(4-CF3C6H4)2] (trans-4h) wurden 31P-, 13C- und 1-NMR-spektroskopisch untersucht. Die Kopplungskonstanten 1J[195Pt, 31P], nJ[195Pt, 13C], nJ[195Pt, H] und 2J[31P, 13C] zeigen eine eindeutige Abhängigkeit von der Konfiguration der Liganden am dsp2-hybridisierten Platin; sie können daher zur sicheren Konfigurations-Bestimmung verwendet werden.
