Notes: Die Beständigkeit, der Einfluß von Substituenten auf die Beständigkeit und die Zersetzungsprodukte einiger. Diazoniumsalze des p-Amino-azobenzols und seiner Derivate wurden untersucht. Bei Diazoniumsalzen von o-Amino-azobenzol-Verbindungen, deren p-Stellung zur Azo-Gruppe und m-Stellung zur diazotierbaren Amino-Gruppe durch eine Alkoxy-Gruppe susbstituiert ist, wurde in wäßriger Lösung eine neue, unter Entalkylierung der Alkoxy-Gruppe verlaufende Zersetzungsreaktion festgestellt.

Notes: Gewöhnliche Phenol-Formaldehyd-Kondensate sind polymolekular und je nach den Reaktionsbedingungen in ihrem Aufbau ungleichförmig, indem sie von Molekel zu Molekel verschiedene Gruppierungen enthalten. Es wird zunächst die Darstellung von Oxymethyl-phenolen, oft Ausgangsverbindungen für Phenol-Formaldehyd-Kondensate, geschildert. Danach folgen der Aufbau molekular-einheitlicher Kondensate definierter Konstitution sowie der Aufbau von linear bzw. räumlich vernetzten Polyoxybenzyläthern, d. h. von molekular-uneinheitlichen Phenol-Formaldehyd-Kondensaten, die aber aus gleichförmigen, einheitlichen Bausteinen bestehen. Diese Produkte ermöglichen eine leichte und eindeutige Untersuchung der Zusammenhänge von physikalischen sowie chemischen Eigenschaften mit der Konstitution von Phenol-Formaldehyd-Kondensaten.

Notes: Mikroskopisch kristalline, einheitliche Schwermetallsalze werden aus alkalischer Komplexsalz-Lösung durch Senken des pH-Wertes im homogenen System gefällt. Es handelt sich um eine sehr vielseitig anwendbare Methode, in erster Linie zur Gewinnung neutraler und basischer schwerlöslicher Salze, welche sonst mikroskopisch amorph und inhomogen erhalten werden.

Notes: In Deutschland geht der Patentschutz über das in den Patentansprüchen unmittelbar Aufgeführte hinaus. Dieser erweiterte Schutz des Erfinders führt jedoch zu einer gewissen Rechtsunsicherheit. Die Begriffe „Gegenstand der Erfindung“, „Stand der Technik“, „verschlechterte Ausführungsform“ und der „allgemeine Erfindungsgedanke“ werden hier daher neben anderen genauer definiert. Notes: Kaliumphthalat läßt sich bei 400° C in inerter Atmosphäre zu Kaliumterephthalat umlagern. Kaliumbenzoat geht bei etwa gleichen Temperaturen in Kaliumterephthalat und Benzol über. ähnliche Umlagerungen bzw. Disproportionierungen zeigen auch die Kaliumsalze anderer Mono- und Dicarbonsäuren von aromatischen Ringsystemen bzw. heterocyclischen Ringsystemen mit aromatischer Struktur. Bei diesen Reaktionen werden auch Tricarbonsäuren gebildet. Es wird der Einfluß verschiedener Faktoren, wie Ersatz des Kaliums durch andere Alkali- und Erdalkalimetalle sowie die Wirkung von Katalysatoren auf die Reaktionen dargelegt.

Notes: Die Passivität von Metallen1) ist stets durch eine geschlossene Oxyd-Schicht auf dem Metall bedingt, die seine scheinbare Veredelung verursacht. Diese Oxydschichten sind oft extrem dünn, bis herab zu monoatomaren Chemiesorptionsschichten von Sauerstoff. Meßtechnisch läßt sich die Passivierung an Stromspannungskurven verfolgen, die mit Potentiostaten aufgenommen werden. Ursache und Wirkung sowie spezielle Probleme der Passivität, besonders bei einigen technisch wichtigen Metallen und Legierungen werden erläutert.

Notes: Es werden zunächst die Wirkungsweise und die wesentlichen apparativen Merkmale der bei der Untersuchung schneller Reaktionen benutzten Massenspektrometertypen zusammengefaßt. Mit ihrer Hilfe ist es nicht nur möglich, kurzlebige Zwischenprodukte chemischer Reaktionen qualitativ nachzuweisen, sondern auch die Geschwindigkeitskonstanten und Aktivierungsenergien der betr. Reaktionen zu messen. Es ergeben sich u. a. wesentliche Hinweise auf den Ablauf von Flammenreaktionen wie die von Methan-Sauerstoff, Wasserstoff-Sauerstoff, Diäthyläther-Sauerstoff oder die Gasphasen-oxydation von Acetaldehyd. Hinzu kommen Ergebnisse über die Vorgänge an Katalysator-Oberflächen. Auch zur Aufklärung der Reaktionen von Atomen und Radikalen aus elektrischen Entladungen und photochemischen Umsetzungen können massenspektrometrische Messungen beitragen. Durch die Verwendung von Feldemissions-Ionenquellen ergeben sich Möglichkeiten zum weiteren Ausbau dieses noch jungen Arbeitsgebietes.
