The hitherto unknown, tetragonal crystallising compounds Li2HgO2 (a = 3,55 Å, c = 11,23 Å), Na2HgO2 (a = 3,42 Å, c = 13,32 Å), K2HgO2 (a = 3,92 Å, c = 13,94 Å), Rb2HgO2 (a = 4,13 Å, c = 14,19 Å), und Cs2HgO2 (a = 4,35 Å, c = 14,51 Å) have been obtained. These compounds are colourless and extremly sensitive to moisture. The crystal structure of Na2HgO2 and K2HgO2 has been elucidated by means of Fourier methods using single crystals.

Neu dargestellt wurden die tetragonal kristallisierenden Verbindungen Li2HgO2 (a = 3,55 Å, e = 11,23Å), Na2HgO2 (a = 3,42 Å, c = 13,32 Å), K2HgO2 (a = 3,92 Å, c = 13,94 Å), Rb2HgO2 (a = 4,13 Å, c = 14,19 Å), und Cs2HgO2 (a = 4,35 Å, c = 14,51 Å). Die Verbindungen sind farblos und extrem empfindlich gegen Feuchtigkeit. Die Kristallstruktur von Na2HgO2 und K2HgO2 wurde an Einkristallen mit Hilfe von Fourier-Methoden aufgeklärt.
