Notes: Mit dieser Arbeit ist es gelungen, das 4-Aminopyridin zum 3-Chlormercuri-4-aminopyridin und zum 3,5-Dichlormercuri-4-aminopyridin zu mercurieren. Vom 3-Chlormercuri-4-aminopyridin ist das Hydrochlorid dargestellt worden. Die Stellung des Quecksilbers wurde durch Umsetzung der beiden Quecksilberverbindungen mit Brom zum 3-Brom-4-aminopyridin und zum 3,5-Dibrom-4-aminopyridin bewiesen. Die analogen Umsetzungen mit Jod führten zu dem 3,5-Dijod-4-aminopyridin und zu dem 3-Jod-4-aminopyridin. Letzteres stimmt mit einem in der Literatur erwähnten Produkt derselben Bezeichnung nicht überein. Das 3-Jod-4-aminopyridin wurde charakterisiert durch das 1-Methyl-3-jod-4-aminopyridiniumjodid, sein Umsetzungsprodukt mit Methyljodid, und durch das Benzol-N-[3-jodpyridyl-(4)]-sulfamid, sein Reaktionsprodukt mit Benzolsulfochlorid. Das 3,5-Dijod-4-aminopyridin wurde ebenfalls durch sein Jodmethylat, das 1-Methyl-3,5-dijod-4-aminopyridiniumjodid, und durch sein Pikrat charakterisiert. Durch Umsetzung des 3-Chlormercuri-4-aminopyridins mit Kaliumrhodanid konnte das 3-Rhodanmercuri-4-aminopyridin, durch Reaktion mit alkalischer Stannitlösung das Di-[4-amino-pyridyl-(3)]-quecksilber und durch Einwirkung von Kaliumcyanat in saurer Umgebung der 3-Chlormercuripyridyl-(4)-harnstoff synthetisiert werden.

Notes: Es wird gezeigt, daß o- und Novovanillin Kondensationen mit Formaldehyd und einer Reihe von sekundären aliphatischen und heterocyclischen Basen nach Mannich eingehen. Durch die phenolische Hydroxylgruppe wird das para-ständige Wasserstoffatom hinreichend aktiviert, so daß eine Aminomethylgruppe in 5-Stellung eingeführt werden kann. Dieser Einfluß geht verloren, wenn die OH-Gruppe alkyliert wird. Drei verschiedene Kondensationsmethoden wurden angewandt, je nach der Reaktionsfähigkeit der jeweiligen Amine oder deren Hydrochloride.

Eine vollständige Auftrennung läßt sich bei den gewählten Testgemischen mit Kieselgelen mittleren Porendurchmessers (50-60 Å) erzielen. Notes: Es wird über die Beeinflussung der kapillaraktiven und waschtechnischen Eigenschaften von Tetradekanmonosulfonaten durch Tetradekandisulfonate berichtet. Diese Verbindungen wurden über die Sulfochlorierung von n-Tetradekan hergestellt. In die Untersuchungen wurde ein definiertes Monosulfonat, das Tetradekanmonosulfonat-(1) und ein definiertes Disulfonat, das Tetradekandisulfonat-(1,10) mit einbezogen.Die erwartete Verschlechterung der kapillaraktiven und waschtechnischen Eigenschaften der gut wirkenden Monosulfonate durch die wenig aktiven Disulfonate konnte im allgemeinen beobachtet werden, wenn auch nicht in dem erwarteten Ausmaß.

Es wird gezeigt, daß auch andere Mehrkomponenten-Lösungen beim Eindampfen im Temperaturgefälle unterschiedliche Bodenkörper gegenüber der isothermen Eindampfung zeigen. Es wurde das System NaCl—KCl—NaNO3—KNO3—H2O beim Eindampfen im Temperaturgefälle untersucht. Salze, die sich im Bereich niedriger Temperaturen ausscheiden, werden nach Literaturangaben als kryophil und Salze, die sich im Bereich höherer Temperaturen ausscheiden, als thermophil bezeichnet. Die Chloride und Nitrate des Natriums und des Kaliums sind kryophil. In den Zweisalzsystemen läßt sich eine zeitlich gleichzeitige, aber räumlich getrennte Auskristallisation feststellen. Die getrennte Auskristallisation von NaCl und KNO3 aus im Temperaturgefälle eingedampften Lösungen kann zur Herstellung von Konversionssalpeter ausgenutzt werden. Es wird gegenüber dem isothermen Eindampfen ein Arbeitsgang erspart.

Notes: One of the ceramic clays known as RAJMAHAL clay was rendered into the H-clay by leaching with 0.02 N HCl and washing it free from excess of the acid. The H-clay was sieved through 120 mesh, and the clay suspension was shaken in a mechanical shaker for different intervals of time. It was observed that the pH of the clay suspension took 8 hours to reach a constant pH value.The suspension was then titrated against 0.01 N NaOH solution both by conductometry and potentiometry. The points of equivalence obtained by both of these techniques were strikingly identical. There were three loops (two prominent and one suppressed) and three points of intersection in the potentiometric and conductometric curves respectively. These results have been discussed in the aspect of clay mineralogy.

Notes: Der Einfluß von Metallionen auf die Decarboxylierung von Brenztraubensäure, α-Ketobuttersäure und Trimethylbrenztraubensäure wird untersucht. Diese kann in Abhängigkeit von den gewählten Bedingungen nach zwei Richtungen erfolgen. Namentlich in Gegenwart von guten Komplexbildnern wie Al und Cu werden zunächst aldolartige Kondensationsprodukte aus mehreren Ketosäure-Molekülen gebildet, die anschließend unter der Wirkung der Metallionen decarboxyliert werden. Diese Reaktion ist stark pH-abhängig und wird durch Sauerstoff nicht beeinflußt. Dagegen verläuft die oxydative Decarboxylierung der α-Ketosäuren bei Gegenwart von Mn-II-Ionen mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit über einen Radikal-Mechanismus, in dessen Verlauf vornehmlich die um 1 C-Atom ärmeren Fettsäuren entstehen.

Notes: Es werden Versuche beschrieben, bei denen Magnetite durch Fällung unter Luftabschluß hergestellt wurden. Das Oxydationsmittel, entweder Kaliumchlorat oder Kaliumnitrat, wurde vom Unterschuß bis Überschuß zugesetzt. Man erhält im allgemeinen Präparate mit einem höheren Eisen(III)-oxydgehalt als nach den Ansätzen zu erwarten war. Das pyrophore Verhalten dieser Fällung beruht auf einem Gehalt von amorphem Fe(OH)2. Bei veränderter Versuchsdurchführung, wobei Oxydations- und Fällungsmittel portionsweise zugesetzt wurden, trat bei allen Präparaten, die mit weniger als einem Äquivalent Oxydationsmittel hergestellt wurden, auch α-Hydroxyd auf. Es wurden die Remanenzwerte der Präparate gemessen, wobei festgestellt werden konnte, daß die mit einem ¾ oder 1 Äquivalent oxydierten Präparate die höchsten Sättigungsremanenzwerte aufweisen. Die Zusammensetzung einzelner Präparate und ihrer Remanenzwerte bestätigen die Ergebnisse von G. ACKERMANN.
