Fluorine Exchange Reactions in Metaltrifluorophosphine Complexes, VI. Periphery Reactions of Tetrakis(trifluorophosphine)nickel(0) with N-BaseNi(PF3)4 (1) reacts with monofunctional primary and secondary amines and amides as well as with hydrazine and ethylenediamine to yield in a smooth reaction the aminodifluorophosphine complexes of Ni0 2-17 according to equation (1). Hydrazine displays monofunctional behaviour, whereas ethylendiamine in a bifunctional type of reaction yields Ni(PF3)3(PFen) (en = HN[CH2]2NH) and the binuclear complex {(PF3)3NiPF2}2en. The degree of F-substitution according to reaction (1) is primarily determined by steric factors. While pure diisopropylamine shows no reaction with 1, mixtures of this amine with water open a new route to F/OH-exchange by means of which [(i-C3H7)2NH2][Ni(PF3)3PF2O] (18) is prepared. Similarly mixtures of hydrazine with methanol lead to F/OCH3-exchange with formation of Ni(PF2 OCH3)4.
Notes:
