    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Bei der makroskopischen Darstellung von Kalkablagerungen treten die calcifizierten Anteile der inneren elastischen Membran auch an den Milzarterien in Form von gepaarten schwarzen Kalkbändern oder ihren Fragmenten zutage. Diese stellen mineralisierte Ränder von Membranspalten dar und lassen daher die Form und Ausdehnung der Membranlücken an der Innenwand der Arterie makroskopisch erkennen. Die äußeren, sich ausbuchtenden Bögen der geschlängelten Milzarterien zeigen an ihrer inneren elastischen Membran ein stark ausgebildetes Spaltensystem und erweisen sich zugleich als ein bevorzugter Sitz der Membrancalcinose. Die stärkere Entwicklung des Spaltensystems der primären inneren elastischen Membran an den äußeren Bögen der Krümmer stellt offenbar die Folge einer hier stattfindenden Wanddehnung dar, die auch an der Verdünnung der Wand und an dem Auseinanderweichen der adventitiellen elastischen Geflechte erkennbar wird.
    Notes: Summary Calcific deposits have been demonstrated grossly in the internal elastic membrane of splenic arteries. They are seen on the margins of membrane gaps as pairs of continuous or interrupted black bands (“calcific bands”). When the calcification is pronounced, nearly the whole system of ramifying and communicating membrane gaps is discerned grossly on the inner surface of the arteries. On the inside of the convex segments of the tortuous splenic arteries the membrane gaps are more numerous and wider then on the inside of the concave segments. Consequently, the calcific deposits are commoner on the convex segments. The development of gaps in the internal elastic membrane on the convex segments is probably the result of distension by the greater hydraulic pressure on these parts of the tortuous artery. This also leads to thinning of the media and interruption of the elastic networks in the adventitia in these parts of the artery.

    Notes: Summary After a thorough presentation of the available literature concerning Noma, a case history of a 34 year old woman who had a typical Noma in the cheek is reported. This was successfully treated with penicillin infusion but it presented the usual late complications of the lungs. The methods of treatment has been extensively discussed.

Lebensjahr einen bandförmigen, präauricularen Schwund des Fettgewebes der linken Wange, mit konsekutivem Auftreten von Pseudopelade Brocq-artigen Herden im Capillitium aufweist. Diese zum Aspekt eines Totenkopfes führenden Veränderungen sind mit der Lipodystrophia progressiva Simons identisch, ein Krankheitsbild, dessen Phänomenologie und Varianten anhand einer Literaturübersicht dargestellt wird. Eine Ursache für das Zustandekommen der Erscheinung war nicht zu ermitteln.
    Notes: Summary A case report concerning a 26-year old man who since his 15th year has shown a ribbon-like, preauricular loss of the adipose tissue of the left cheek and also the presence of patches on the head which simulate Pseudopelade Brocq. These changes which resemble the death's head are symptoms of Lipodystrophia progressiva (Simons). With the available Literature the phenomenology and the different forms of this disease are dealt with. Its etiology ist unknown.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung In Homogenaten menschlicher Epidermis wird das Enzym Sorbit-Dehydrogenase (SDH) nachgewiesen. Die Konzentration der SDH ist mit ca. 287 m.U. im Mittel in Leichenepidermis mehr als doppelt so hoch wie mit 105 m.U. in Amputationshaut. Allgemeinerkrankungen scheinen bei unserem Untersuchungsgut keinen Einfluß auf die Aktivität des Enzyms zu haben.
    Notes: Summary The presence of the enzyme Sorbit-Dehydrogenase (SDH) was proved in the homogen of humanate epidermis. The concentration of SDH in the epidermis of the corpse was roughly with 287 m.U. in the vehicle twice as much higher as in the amputated skin with 105 m.U. It appears that the general disease has no influence on the activity of the enzyme in our conducted experiment.
