Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Sonography of different planes renders a three-dimensional image of the organ, including its demarcation and relationship to nearby organs, as well as patterns of parenchyma. Imaging does not depend on hormonal function; thus, even nonactive areas can be assessed. In fact, ultrasound and scintigraphy should be used in addition. Suspect palpatory/scintigraphic findings should be evaluated by ultrasound-controlled percutaneous needle biopsy.
