Notes: 1. La synthèse de triazoles substitués est réalisable par chauffage prolongé d'un azide organique et d'un composé acétylénique dissous dans un solvant approprié (généralement le toluéne). Les éthynylcarbinols, en particulier, donnent des hydroxyalcoyl-triazoles, le groupe OH étant porté dans la chaîne alcoylique par l'atome de carbone lié au cycle. A partir de composés acétyléniques asymétriques, deux triazoles isomérique peuvent être attendus; ils ont effectivement été isolés dans plusieurs synthèses.

Notes: Durch Kondensation von aromatischen Ketonen mit Thiodiphenylamin und Phenoxazin wird eine Reihe neuer Farbsalze der Triphenylmethanreihe aufgebaut, ausserdem einige Pyryliumsalze in analoger Weise aus Cumarin und Flavon. Die Vergleichsfarbstoffe aus Diphenylamin werden ebenfalls synthetisiert. Es ergibt sich, dass Thiodiphenylamin und Phenoxazin einen ungewöhnlich starken bathochromen Effekt ausüben (in der Mehrzahl der Fälle starke Ultrarotabsorption). Eine scheinbare Ausnahme bei den Farbstoffen aus Michler's Keton, deren Hauptmaxima bei relativ kurzen Wellen liegen, erklärt sich aus der Überlagerung der langwelligen Bande durch eine kürzerwellige Bande.

Notes: A critical survey of the known methods of paper chromatography of steroids is given. A new solvent system is described which, in connection with several colour reactions, is particularly applicable to the separation, identification and purity analysis of weakly polar steroids or corresponding esters and ethers. The stationary phase is formed by ethyleneglycol monophenylether (phenylcellosolve) on Whatman paper No. 7, the mobile phase by heptane or a similar non-polar solvent.

Die Methode hat sich gut bewährt zur Darstellung von Phenacylacetaminomalonester, von Acetonylacetaminomalonester und, bei geringerer Ausbeute, von o-Nitrophenacylacetamino-malonester. Durch Verseifung und Decarboxylierung dieser Ester wurden die entsprechenden α-Amino-γ-ketocarbonsäuren in guten Ausbeuten gewonnen.

Notes: Ausgehend von D-Fructose-phenylosotriazol wurden das beständige 3, 6-Anhydro- und das reaktionsfähige 5, 6-Anhydro-D-fructose-phenylosotriazol hergestellt. Die Konstitution der beiden Anhydrotriazole konnte durch eindeutig verlaufende Umwandlungen - vorwiegend zu 6-substituierten D-Fructose-phenylosotriazolen - und Vergleich mit Präparaten anderer Herkunft und bekannter Konstitution bewiesen werden. Drei Nebenprodukte aus der Tosylierung des D-Fructose-phenylosotriazols wurden in ihrer Konstitution noch nicht aufgeklärt.

Notes: Nous avons effectué la synthèse d'α- et de β-glucosaminides à partir des N-carbalcoxy-glucosamines et des α- et β-osides correspondants. Nous montrons que ces dérivés, très stables, ne présentent aucune mutarotation dans des conditions où les glucosides analogues en présentent une. Le groupe aminé de ces glucosaminides ne possède pas les propriétés caractéristiques d'une amine primaire. Tous ces faits rendent peu plausibles une structure glucosidique classique pour les glucosaminides.

Notes: Es wird experimentell festgestellt, dass bei der Absorption von CO2 aus einem Gasgemisch durch Lösungen von Alkalien die Aufnahme von 12CO2 um den Faktor 1,014 schneller erfolgt als diejenige von 13CO2. Ein ähnlicher Fraktionierungsfaktor von 1,011 ergibt sich auch bei der Absorption reiner CO2. Der Effekt lässt sich am besten auf die um den Faktor 1,011 voneinander verschiedenen gaskinetischen Auftreffwahrscheinliehkeiten der 12CO2- und 13CO2-Molekeln bezüglich der absorbierenden Flüssigkeitsoberfläche zurückführen.

Notes: Im Zusammenhang mit Betrachtungen über die Lichtabsorption organischer Farbstoffe stellt sich die Frage nach dem Grad der Näherung, welcher dadurch erreicht wird, dass man die Wellenfunktion des Elektrons des Wasserstoffatoms im Normalzustand durch die Wellenfunktion eines Elektrons ersetzt denkt, das im Innern eines würfelförmigen Hohlraums eingeschlossen ist und sich im energieärmsten Quantenzustand befindet. Es zeigt sich, dass die beste Approximation dieser Art dadurch erreicht wird, dass dem fiktiven Würfelkasten, den man sich um den Wasserstoffkern gelegt denkt, eine Kantenlänge von 3,8 Å erteilt wird.

Notes: Das Acetat des früher als «Sarmentosid B» bezeichneten Diglykosids kann nur dann aus den Samen von Strophanthus sarmentosus (sowohl aus Senegal als auch aus Nordnigeria) erhalten werden, wenn die Aufarbeitung ohne Fermentierung durchgeführt wird; nach Fermentierung wird statt dessen das Monoglykosid Sarnovid erhalten. Die früher als «Sarmentosid B» bezeichnete Verbindung ist ein Diacetat; das diesem zugrundeliegende Diglykosid, für das der Name Sargenosid vorgeschlagen wird, konnte bisher nicht kristallisiert erhalten werden. Von den Acetylgruppen des Sargenosid-diacetats (früher «Sarmentosid B») haftet eine an der 11-ständigen HO-Gruppe des Sarmentogenins. Sarmentogenin-11-monoacetat (früher «Sarmentosigenin») sowie einige weitere Derivate des Sarmentogenins und des Sarmentocymarins wurden bereitet.

Notes: Es wird die Herstellung einiger 1-Methyl-4-phenyl-piperidin-(4)-alkylsulfone beschrieben. Durch Behandlung mit 50-proz. Schwefelsäure wird die Alkylsulfon-Gruppe in ähnlicher Weise wie bei den von Klenk und Mitarbeitern(1) hergestellten Benzhydryl-alkylsulfonen(2) unter Bildung einer Doppelbindung am quaternären C-Atom des Piperidinringes abgespalten. Die hergestellten Alkylsulfon-Verbindungen sind zum Teil ebenso gut analgetisch wirksam wie das Dolantin. Beim Ersatz der Carbäthoxy-Gruppe des Dolantins durch die Äthylsulfon-Gruppe bleibt die analgetische Wirkung voll erhalten, während die Toxizität auf einen vierfach geringeren Wert absinkt. Dies stimmt mit den von Klenk und Mitarbeitern(1) in der Amidonreihe gemachten Beobachtungen überein.

Notes: Die Glykoside Scillaren A und Proscillaridin A sind durch einen Penicilliumstamm in einer Nährlösung, die als einzige Kohlenstoffquelle Rhamnose enthielt, nicht nur bis zum Scillarenin, sondern überwiegend bis zum entsprechenden Keton, dem Scillarenon, abgebaut worden. Wird die Ketogruppe des Scillarenons, dessen Kerndoppelbindung zwischen den C-Atomen 4 und 5 liegt, nach Meerwein-Ponndorf reduziert, so entsteht Scillarenin, was beweist, dass sich auch die Kerndoppelbindung im Scillarenin zwischen den C-Atomen 4 und 5 befinden muss. Das primäre Aglykon Scillarenin, bzw. die sich davon ableitenden Glykoside Proscillaridin A, Scillaren A und Glucoscillaren A besitzen die Konstitution, wie sie im Formelbild I wiedergegeben ist.

Notes: Das 114In geht durch γ-Emission mit einer Halbwertszeit von 48 Tagen in ein 72s-Isomer über, welches durch β-Emission und durch K-Einfang im 114Cd und 114Sn weiter zerfällt. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird versucht, das 72s-Isomer rein abzutrennen. Die Abtrennung der 72s-Aktivität gelingt durch elektrische Abscheidung in passend gewähltem Lösungsmittel eines In-Komplexsalzes. Das In-Ion wird sicher zuerst als positives Ion gebildet; aber die Art des Lösungsmittels entscheidet darüber, ob das In an die Kathode geht oder nach nachträglicher Umladung an der Anode abgeschieden wird.

Notes: An extract from germinated peas was analyzed for sugars by the methods of Somogyi, Hagedorn-Jensen and by paper partition chromatography. While the last named method can be controlled and has been shown to give good and reliable results, both the reduction of copper in alcaline solution and the reduction of ferricyanide gave too high values for reducing sugar. The difference was especially great with ferricyanide as oxidising agent (more than 300% reducing sugar compared to the sum of the values for glucose and fructose obtained by paper chromatography). Determination of non-reducing sugar (only saccharose) by hydrolysis of the extract and measurement of its increase in reducing power by one of the first named methods was too unreliable as other substances were also hydrolyzed with liberation of reducing components. As the amount of surplus reduction by foreign substances cannot be foreseen and is different for different extracts the only reliable method for sugar analysis in biological fluids of varying composition is the separation of the soluble carbohydrates from the interfering substances by partition chromatography and determination of the isolated sugars by one of the classical methods.

Eleutherinol-dimethyläther lieferte bei der alkalischen Spaltung neben Essigsäure und Aceton 1-Acetyl-2-oxy-3-methyl-6,8-dimethoxy-naphtalin und 2-Oxy-3-methyl-6,8-dimethoxy-naphtalin. Bleitetraacetat oxydierte letzteres zu 3-Methyl-6,8-dimethoxy-1,2-naphtochinon und zu 2-Oxy-3-methyl-6,8-dimethoxy-1,4-naphtochinon, welches sich mit dem aus 3-Methyl-6,8-dimethoxy-1,4-naphtochinon synthetisch hergestellten 2-Oxy-naphtochinon als identisch erwies. Eleutherinol besitzt daher die Konstitution des 2,3′-Dimethyl-6′,8′-dioxy-[naphto-1′,2′: 5,6-pyrons-(4)]; es stellt das erste natürliche Benzochromon-Derivat dar.

Notes: Durch katalytische Reduktion von 1,1-Dimethyl-cyclohexanon-(4)-essigsäureester-(3) unter verschiedenen Bedingungen wurden die beiden stereoisomeren Oxyester hergestellt. Aus diesen erhielt man die entsprechenden Lactone und die eine Oxysäure. Die Zuteilung der cis- bzw. trans-Form wurde auf Grund der verschieden grossen Beständigkeit der Oxyester und der Lactone vorgenommen. Allocyclogeraniumsäureester wurde sowohl aus dem cis-Oxyester durch direkte Wasserabspaltung als auch aus dem cis-Lacton über den γ-Chlorester gewonnen. Die synthetische Allo-cyclogeraniumsäure ist identisch mit der von Ch. A. Vodoz & H. Schinz beschriebenen Verbindung, welche bei der Cyclisation von mit β,γ-ungesättigten Isomeren vermengter Geraniumsäure entsteht.

Notes: No precipitation occurs if hydrazine is added to solutions of the fluoroborates of Ni and Zn. The amount of hydrazine taken up by the metal cation in such solutions has been determined with the aid of pH measurements and it has been found, that Ni+2 adds 6 molecules of N2H4 in equal steps and Zn+2 four molecules, hydrazine functionning therefore as a monodentate group. The formation constants of all of the individual complexes have been evaluated. The solubility products of {Ni(N2H4)2Cl2}, {Ni(N2H4)3Cl2} and {Ni(N2H4)3 SO4} have been determined.

Notes: Mit Hilfe von 15N wird gezeigt, dass bei der durch Anilinhydrochlorid hervorgerufenen «Umlagerung» von Diazoamidobenzol in p-Aminoazobenzol ein quantitativer Austausch zwischen den —N·C6H5-Gruppen des Triazenderivates und denen des Anilinsalzes stattfindet. Dagegen wird das mittelständige Stickstoffatom des Diazoamidobenzols von dem Austausch nicht berührt.
