Für eine Reihe von stark adsorbierbaren Anionen wurden die Empfindlichkeiten der Nachweisgrenzen an einer perchlorsauren Tonerdesäule von ca. 100 mg bestimmt.3. Es wurde eine Reihe von quantitativen Austauschversuchen mehrwertiger Anionen gegen Chloridionen ausgeführt und anschließend durch alkalische Eluierung die mehrwertigen Anionen gesammelt und quantitativ bestimmt.

Notes: An Hand theoretischer Überlegungen wurden für die polarographische Reduktion des Formaldehyds in wässriger Lösung Beziehungen abgeleitet, die den Verlauf des Grenzstromes, der ganzen Stromspannungskurven und des Halbwellenpotentials bei pH-, Temperatur- und Aldehyd-Konzentrationsvariation qualitativ, in einigen Fällen sogar quantitativ beschreiben können. Diese Überlegungen fussten auf der Annahme, dass die Formaldehydwelle nicht durch die Diffusion, sondern durch die Dehydratationsgeschwindigkeit des in wässriger Lösung fast ausschliesslich vorliegenden Methylenglykols zum allein reduzierbar angenommenen, unhydratisierten, monomeren CH2O begrenzt werde.Die hauptsächlichsten experimentellen Befunde wurden beschrieben. Sie erstrecken sich auf pH-, Temperatur- und Formaldehyd-Konzentrationsvariation in gepufferten und ungepufferten Grundlösungen. Die pH-Abhängigkeit der Dehydratationsgeschwindigkeit des Methylenglykols konnte direkt gezeigt werden. Die Diffusionskonstante von Methylenglykol wurde experimentell bei 20° C ermittelt. Die Lage des Hydratationsgleichgewichtes in verdünnter, wässriger Formaldehydlösung wurde ultraviolett-spektrographisch bei verschiedenen Temperaturen, unter Verwendung besonders grosser Schichtlängen, näher ermittelt.

Notes: Es wurde eine Methode zur Bestimmung der Reduktions-Oxydations-Potentiale von photographischen Entwicklern beschrieben. Die Abhängigkeit dieser Potentiale vom PH-wert der Lösungen wurde ermittelt. Jedes gemessene Potential wurde in Beziehung gebracht mit der Entwicklungszeit, die notwendig war, um eine Graukeilkopie in der Lösung zu einem bestimmten Gamma-Wert, im vorliegenden Fall zu γ = 0,60, zu entwickeln.Die Gamma-Werte wurden nach einer vereinfachten Methode ermittelt.Eine allgemein gültige Beziehung zwischen Potential der Lösung und Entwicklungszeit konnte nicht gefunden werden.Die Art der Funktion log Entwicklungszeit/Potential beeinflusst die Arbeitsweise der Entwickler. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass Entwickler mit grossen Werten der Neigung der Kurve log Entw.-zeit/Potential bei Potentialänderung durch beträchtliche Variation der Entwicklungsgeschwindigkeit reagieren.Die Einteilung der Entwickler in Oberflächen- und Tiefenentwickler lässt sich auf die Grösse der Neigung der Kurve log Entw.-zeit/Potential zurückführen. Oberflächenentwickler sind solche mit kleinen, Tiefenentwickler solche mit grossen Werten der Neigung.

Notes: Es wurde die Abhängigkeit der polarographischen Formaldehyd-Welle von der Konzentration ungepufferter, neutraler Grundlösungen geprüft und dabei besonders in hochkonzentrierten Lösungen von CaCl2 und Mg(ClO4)2 eine Vergrösserung der Formaldehydwelle festgestellt.Es wurde der Einfluss organischer Lösungsmittel auf die Formaldehydwelle untersucht und bei Verwendung von Methanol eine Wellenverminderung, bei Verwendung von Dioxan eine Wellenvergrösserung beobachtet.Es wurde der Einfluss von polarographischen Vorwellen auf die Formaldehydwelle studiert und daraus auf die Bedeutung von Ionenformen des Formaldehyds beim Reduktionsmechanismus geschlossen.

Description / Table of Contents: Summary The condensation of dehydroascorbic acid with o-phenylene diamine or its 4,5-dimethyl derivative yields quinoxaline derivatives which can be measured by photometry. Ascorbic acid can be determined after preliminary oxidation with mercury(II) chloride in the same way. This highly specific method has been employed for determinations in pharmaceutical formulations (coefficient of variation ± 1–1.5%).

Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Kondensation von Dehydroascorbinsäure mit o-Phenylendiamin oder 4,5-Dimethyl-o-phenylendiamin führt zur Bildung von spektrophotometrisch auswertbaren Chinoxalinderivaten. Ascorbinsäure kann nach vorangehender Oxidation mit Quecksilberchlorid auf die gleiche Weise bestimmt werden. Die Methode wurde zu Bestimmungen in pharmazeutischen Präparaten verwendet (Variationskoeffizient ± 1–1,5%).

Description / Table of Contents: Summary A simple isolation and cleanup procedure for the determination of organophosphorus insecticides and their oxones in animal tissues has been developed. This procedure unites partly extraction of organophosphorus pesticides and their oxones with cleanup by column chromatography. Most polar coextracts remain on the column and in its further processing the eluate does not tend to form emulsion. The process has been studied on model mixtures of 32P- and 14C-labelled pesticides with tissues as well as after application of pesticides to white rats. The average recovery of the method is 90.5%, with a standard deviation of ±5.1%.

Notes: Zusammenfassung Ein einfaches Isolations- und Reinigungsverfahren wurde ausgearbeitet. Die Extraktion der Insecticide aus einer Homogenatsäule, die aus Kieselgel und Tiergewebe besteht, umfaßt zum Teil auch die Reinigung der Extrakte, da die polaren Verbindungen an die Säule gebunden bleiben. Der Mittelwert der Ausbeute des Verfahrens wurde im Modellversuch mit 14C- und 32P-markierten Insecticiden zu 90,5% festgestellt. Die Standardabweichung beträgt ± 5,1%.

Notes: Bei dem von H. C. Urey und Mitarb. entwickelten chemischen Isotopentrennverfahren stellt die Bewegung der meist hochaggressiven Flüssigkeiten eine der wesentlichsten apparativen Schwierigkeiten dar. Die Säuren, Laugen und Salzlösungen müssen über Zeiträume von mehreren Monaten mit genauer Dosierung gepumpt werden, wobei die Fördervolumina häufig nur in der Größenordnung von einigen 10 cm3/h liegen. Bei der von uns in München durchgeführten Anreicherung des 15N konnten diese Schwierigkeiten mit einem Spezialtyp der auch von Urey und Mitarb. verwendeten Schlauchpumpe überwunden werden. Da diese Pumpe, die sich inzwischen im jahrelangen Dauerbetrieb bestens bewährt hat, auch für andere Probleme der chemischen Labor- und Betriebspraxis geeignet ist, wird sie im folgenden beschrieben.

Notes: Bei der laminaren Strömung unter großen Reibungsleistungen treten drei die Strömung wesentlich verändernde Einflüsse auf, die im Bereich geringer Reibungsleistungen und Drücke keine Rolle spielen: die Erwärmung und das Temperaturfeld im strömenden Stoff infolge der Reibung; die Veränderung der Zähigkeit mit dem Druck; eine noch unbestimmte, aber mögliche Veränderung der Zähigkeit mit der Schergeschwindigkeit. Alle drei Einflüsse werden experimentell und rechnerisch an drei Ölen untersucht; die grundsätzliche Aufklärung dieser Zusammenhänge ist für die hydrodynamische Lagerreibung, für die Viskosimetrie und für die Strömung in Rohren und Hochdruckleitungen von Bedeutung. Zur Untersuchung dieser Fragen wurde eine neue Versuchseinrichtung entwickelt, mit der sowohl sämtliche viskosimetrischen und Strömungsdaten als auch die Temperatur des Öles vor und hinter der Kapillare genau gemessen werden können.
