    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Es wird eine Methode beschrieben, nach der sich ADP und ATP colorimetrisch quantitativ erfassen lassen nach Zinkstaubreduktion und Diazotierung der reduzierten Adeninmolekel. 2. Im Blut gesunder Versuchspersonen finden sich im Mittel 52 mg-% ADP-ATP. Hiervon sind etwa 96% im Erythrocyten, der Rest im Serum enthalten. 3. Untersuchungen an einem größeren Krankengut (100 Fälle) ergeben keine spezifischen Abweichungen des ADP-ATP-Gehaltes von der Norm für die einzelnen Krankheitsbilder.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Nach intravenöser Injektion von kolloidalen Substanzen oder Kongorot steigen die Werte von ATP + ADP im Blut von Kaninchen und Menschen an. 2. Der zeitliche Ablauf dieses Anstiegs wird am besten durch Bestimmungen unmittelbar vor und 2, 4, 7 und 24 Std nach der Injektion erfaßt. Kurvenmäßig dargestellt ergeben die gewonnenen Werte relativ gleichförmige ansteigende und nach 4–7 Std wieder abfallende Kurven. 3. Derartige Kurven wurden an 40 Gesunden, 40 Leberkranken und der gleichen Zahl Patienten mit den verschiedensten anderen Krankheitengewonnen. 4. Mit hoher Regelmäßigkeit traten bei Leberkranken abfallende Werte auf, die bei andern Krankheiten nicht beobachtet werden. 5. Es wirken sich offenbar schon recht kleine Störungen der Leberfunktion in dem geschilderten Sinne aus, so daß durch Äthernarkose entstandene interkurrente Leberschäden noch 12–14 Tage lang nachgewiesen werden können.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Vaccination is one of the most powerful strategies in medical prevention. Although wide-scale vaccination programs have failed in the German population, real opponents to vaccination in our country are in the minority. An adequate vaccination protocol is important not only medically, but also cost-effective from a public health perspective. The lack of a vaccination programs as in other European countries represents a major, critical deficiency which should be rectified in Germany.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Kaum eine andere Maßnahme wie die Impfung hat größeren präventiven medizinischen Charakter. Während eine Durchimpfung der Bevölkerung in Deutschland in vielen Bereichen nicht gelungen ist, sind tatsächliche Impfgegner in unserem Lande nur in einer Minderheit vorhanden. Gute Impfkonzepte sind nicht nur aus medizinischer Sicht richtig, sondern in der gesellschaftlichen Betrachtung auch kosteneffizient. Der Mangel in unserem Land ist, dass ein Impfprogramm fehlt, wie es in anderen Ländern, auch in Europa, bereits vorliegt. Aus diesem Grunde muss ein Impfkonzept in Deutschland durchgesetzt werden.

    The vesicular forebrain (pseudo-aprosencephaly): a missing link in the teratogenetic spectrum of the defective brain anlage and its discrimination from aprosencephaly (2000)

    Notes: Abstract Two cases out of a sample of 41 fetuses and infants with prosencephalic malformation, observed at the Institute of Pathology and Department of Neuropathology of the University of Heidelberg, are described here in detail. These cases presented grossly with microcephaly and missing forebrain, appearing to be cases of aprosencephaly. However, in one of these cases glio-mesenchymal membranes with an ependymal outline, consistent with the microscopic appearance of the dorsal sac membrane in holoprosencephaly and obviously representing remnants of a collapsed primitive prosencephalic vesicle, could be demonstrated. In the other case only hindbrain structures, with the exception of the cerebellum, were present without any demonstrable remnants of a prosencephalon. We propose that the microscopic specification of a primitive prosencephalic vesicle in the first case and similar cases does not justify the diagnosis of atelencephaly/aprosencephaly because the prosencephalon was not really missing (pseudo-aprosencephaly). The prosencephalic anlage had been formed but remained vesicular without further differentiation of a holospheric brain mantle as in common holoprosencephaly (‘vesicular forebrain’). We believe that pseudo-aprosencephaly represents the most primitive form of holoprosencephaly, in which the forebrain remains as a complete sac, linking classical holoprosencephaly with ‘true’ aprosencephaly, i.e., defective prosencephalic anlage due to developmental arrest. The ‘vesicular forebrain’ allows one to extend the classification of Probst by an additional category which might be termed complete sac category, intercalated between the dorsal sac category and ‘true’ atelencephaly/aprosencephaly.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wurden licht- und elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchungen am Gitterfasersystem des Corpusendometriums vorgenommen. Dabei konnte festgestellt werden, daß das endometrane Fasergerüst, welches wahrscheinlich extracellulärer Herkunft ist, während des Cyclus und in der Gravidität charakteristischen Veränderungen unterworfen ist. Mehrere Tatsachen sprechen dafür, daß das Gitterfasersystem mit den zelligen Bestandteilen der Corpusmucosa eine anatomische und funktionelle Einheit bildet. Bei den Forschungen über das Corpusendometrium müssen daher beide Systeme gleichzeitig berücksichtigt werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary Study of the literature and experimental investigations have shown that storage of blood in the ACD stabilizer is not optimal when compared with a phosphate-dextrose-saccharose stabilizer. Further it was shown that the metabolic kinetics and the speed of permeability for anions did not correspond with Arrhenius's law. The divergence was most marked below 10°C. In the usual ice-chest range of temperature (about 4°C) the difference between the course of metabolic processes and permeability leads to increase of lactic acid in the erythrocytes, causing a shift of intracellular pH. In order to intimate physiological conditions as closely as possible, it is suggested that blood should be stored in synthetic containers permitting dialysis and that it should be surrounded by a suitable dialyzable fluid.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Wir konnten auf Grund von Literaturangaben und experimenteller Untersuchungen im Vergleich mit einem Phosphat-Dextrose-Saccharose-Stabilisator zeigen, daß die Lagerung von Blut in ACD-Stabilisator nicht den optimalen Bedingungen entspricht. Ferner wurde festgestellt, daß die Stoffwechselkinetik und die Permeabilitätsgeschwindigkeit für Anionen nicht dem Gesetz vonArrbenius gehorcht. Besonders augenfällig sind die Abweichungen bei Temperaturen unter 10°C. Die Differenz zwischen Stoffwechselablauf und Permeabilität bei den üblichen Kühlschranktemperaturen um 4°C führt zu einer starken Milchsäureanreicherung in den Erythrozyten, die eine intrazelluläre pH-Verschiebung verursacht. Um die physiologischen Bedingungen anzunähern, wird vorgeschlagen, das Blut in dialysierfähigen Kunststoffbeuteln zu lagern und mit einer geeigneten Dialysierflüssigkeit zu umspülen.

    Notes: Summary The blood pressure is not disturbed by a local injection of norepinephrine into the hypothalamus, but the excitability of vasopressor centres is affected. Often, the excitability of these centres is decreased; sometimes, it is increased, and, more rarely, it is first potentiated and then inhibited. Epinephrine has the same action, but dopamine is less potent; isoprenaline produces both facilitation and inhibition of these centres, but the facilitating effect is more frequent than with norepinephrine.
